On Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 5:24 PM, NCSO received a 911 call in reference to a report of two people being shot at 96358 Otter Run Drive in the Otter Run Subdivision.

When deputies arrived they saw a male suspect on the front porch of the residence with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Inside the home a female victim had two gunshot wounds to her right arm and shoulder area. She was transported to UF Health Downtown Jacksonville with non- life threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed there had been an ongoing quarrel between the suspect and the victim’s family. The suspect, who lived across the street, approached the front door of the victim’s residence and observed through the window the female homeowner (victim) sitting in a front office area. As the victim looked up when she saw the suspect point a handgun at her and opened fire through the window striking her in the right arm. She got up to run and was shot a second time in the right arm area. She went into another room and hid and called 911. The suspect took his own life by fatally shooting himself on the front porch.

The shooting is still under investigation at this time.
