Beginning Saturday, the Petanque Open will be in full swing as participants from throughout the United States (and a few from France, and Belgium),  gather for the 2021 tournament.  Last year’s tournament was canceled due to COVID-19.  Despite Fernandina’s resiliency project underway on the waterfront, city staff along with volunteers managed to prepare the South Front Street courts for the tournament.

The Saturday and Sunday schedule follows:

Kay and Bob traveled from North Carolina to participate in the Amelia Open. They are petanque enthusiast traveling all over their home state to play. Here are they practicing for tomorrow’s tournament.
