Fernandina Beach Police Department
October 31, 2021

Kevin Kozak and Josh Paetsch.

This is Officer Kevin Kozak (L). This week Kevin is celebrating 14 years with the Fernandina Beach Police Department. Kevin served 30 years with the Miami-Dade Police Department and upon retiring settled in Fernandina Beach. He wasn’t finished serving as a police officer, so he came to work full time with the FBPD and then transitioned to a part time position. Kevin has served in Patrol and Investigations during his time with the FBPD and after 44 years in total, he is still going strong.

This is Officer Josh Paetsch (R). This week he is celebrating 15 years with the Fernandina Beach Police Department. Josh was born and raised in Fernandina Beach, married his high school sweetheart and is now serving his local community. Josh is one of only 400 highly trained Drug Recognition Experts in the State of Florida and he is currently assigned as a Community Problem Response officer on the evening shift. Josh’s duties include addressing neighborhood concerns and DUI enforcement. Josh congratulations on 15 years of service, halfway to retirement.
