Editor’s Note: Bruce, his wife Donna, and our 2 children, Rob and Elizabeth, moved from Jacksonville to Amelia Island in 1994. They built a home in Summer Beach that same year. I retired from Jacksonville Fire/ Rescue in 2007 after 28 years of service. His wife, a pediatric nurse, recently retired from Wolfson Children’s Hospital after 30 years of service. Bruce usually walks, Nova our Husky, on the beach early enough to catch the sunrise most every morning. Bruce’s family loves Amelia Island and can honestly say there is no place he would rather be then in his own backyard. We thank Bruce for his contribution to the Fernandina Observer.
