Petey made his public debut at the September 7, 2021 Regular Meeting of the Fernandina Beach City Commission (FBCC). His enthusiasm and excitement to be the featured guest of the FBCC was in evidence as he immediately found City Manager Dale Martin who provided some welcome pats. Petey is about a year old, medium-sized and fully grown. He really likes people and has also been friendly with other dogs at the shelter. He came to the Nassau Humane Society as part of a large transfer of dogs from overcrowded Georgia shelters where many were in danger of being euthanized. He has a gorgeous tan coat and bright brown eyes. He’ll come to you neutered, microchipped and up to date on his shots.

For more information on animals available for fostering or adoption, visit the Nassau Humane Society’s website https://nassauhumane.org — or just drop by to visit at 641 Airport Road. The shelter is open afternoons daily except Mondays and closed on major holidays.
