Amelia Island Bird Club schedules upcoming field trips for 2021-2022

The following field trips are tentatively scheduled for the upcoming season:

All trips will be on Saturday except the Christmas Bird Count that will be held a few days following Christmas and trips to be announced in the future;

September 11, 2021-Heritage River Road/ Joe Carlucci Boat Ramp;

September 25, 2021- Talbot Island State Parks Tidewater Celebration at Ribault Club on Ft. George Island;

October 16, 2021-Goffinsville and Holly Point Boat Ramps;

November 6, 2021- a Duval Audubon trip that I will lead at Egan’s Greenway;

December 4, 2021- Huguenot Memorial Park;

December 26 or 27, 2021-Christmas Bird Count at Huguenot and Kingsley’s Plantation;

January 29, 2022- a Duval Audubon trip co-led by me at Okefenokee NWR;

February 12, 2022-Spoonbill Pond/ Big Talbot;

March 19, 2022- Ralph Simmons State Forest;

April 9, 2022- Duval Audubon trip that I will lead at Ft. Clinch;

April 30, 2022-Crane Island/ Bailey Road Soccer Fields.

Please note that 3 trips are Duval Audubon trips that are currently limited to 20 participants and require sign up with the Audubon website. If more people from our club want to participate than can be accommodated, I will schedule a separate trip. I will send a detailed notice of our first trip September 11th about 10 days in advance.

Thanks to those who have agreed to donate time to our September 25 exhibit and especially to Susan Bonnett for her photos. Please come out to see our exhibit and look for fall migrants.
