August 2021

With great sadness and frustration, the Board of Directors of Fernandina Beach Pride has once again decided to cancel our Pride Parade and Festival planned for October 23, 2021.  We take the health and safety of the entire community very seriously and because of the resurgence of the COVID Delta variant, we do not believe that we can provide a safe environment for the attendees.

The new date for the Parade and Festival is Saturday, June 11, 2022.  All vendors and sponsors that have already submitted their registration and fees will be contacted immediately regarding this cancellation.

We have been in communication with the local medical community and with the Nassau County Health Department.  Based on those conversations, it is apparent that the current spike in cases is not following the normal COVID cycle, thereby putting more of our community at risk.  That is a risk that we are not willing to take by continuing to hold a large event, even outdoors.

We are working on some virtual community events and when the positivity rates decline to acceptable levels, we will host some small in person events between now and June 2022.

The only way that we will ever get ahead of this virus and its mutations, is to follow long standing medical guidelines: wear a mask, social distance and get vaccinated.  Please get your vaccinations and wear a mask.
