“Island Art Association announces its August-September Nouveau Art Show and Sale, themed “Ordinary People.” Winners will be awarded during Second Saturday Artwalk, August 14. Awards will be given at 5:30 outdoors in the courtyard. Masks are requested when entering the gallery or education building. Chairing the show is Becky White, with Kathy Maurer as judge. Find out how to participate in Nouveau and other programs at IAA’s website, islandart.org

Featured artists of the month are IAA’s summer art camp students. Two age groups, 7-10 and 11-16, participated. Their art is represented in several mediums. Stop in to view the remarkable art created by these students.

A finished mural will be unveiled during Artwalk in IAA’s education building. Originally scheduled for 2020, the new joint project of 4-H program staff and IAA volunteers did come to fruition this summer. Martin Torres, Jacksonville artist and muralist, led 15 4-H youth through creation of an individual art piece, then re-creating each on a mural with the challenge to make all the pieces flow together.” The mural will be housed with Nassau County 4-H.

IAA is located at 18 N. 2nd St., downtown Fernandina Beach.”
