City of Fernandina Beach
August 6, 2021

The Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport is proud to be hosting the 117th Air Control Squadron from Savannah, Georgia for its annual training exercise from August 2, through August 12. This training exercise provides this Air National Guard unit an opportunity to practice transporting, setting-up, and using some of its deployable equipment. Roughly 150 individuals from the unit are here for the training exercise, and are staying at multiple hotels within the community for the duration of the exercise. The group will tear-down its equipment and tents at the end of next week (August 13) and return to Savannah. Please take an opportunity to extend a welcome to any of these Air National Guard members if you happen to see them around town over the next week.
