Arts & Culture, General, NatureOkefenokee Protective Alliance honors favorite photographer Posted on July 31, 2021July 30, 2021 by Press Release Okefenokee Protective Alliance July 31, 2021 We are brokenhearted over the sudden passing of one of our favorite photographers, Matt Johnson. Matt had both the eyes to see the beauty of the world around us, and the heart to care deeply about its wellbeing. He knew how fragile and precious each intricate link is and he sought to capture and celebrate that in his work. About the Twin Pines mining threat to the Okefenokee, Matt said “It will never cease to amaze me how destructive human greed is. To sacrifice something magnificent and irreplaceable for money? It’s insane.” Thank you, Matt, for your art and your passion. You will be sorely missed.
