COVID-19 Weekly Situation Report from July 23 – 29 – Cases continue to grow

Florida Department of Health
July 31, 2021

Editor’s Note:  If there is any good news to glean from this week’s COVID-19 report it is that Nassau County has almost doubled the number of people vaccinated over the number of cases reported this week.  Absent from the report is the number of deaths that have occurred in our county.  We hope our residents will take this latest COVID serge seriously.  Mask up, maintain social distancing, wash hands,  and avoid indoor activities if at all possible.

Here’s your lede (from News4Jax) :

“JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Nassau County has the highest rate of COVID-19 cases per capita of any large metropolitan county in the United States, according to a News4Jax analysis of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data. Baker, Clay and Duval counties are also in the top five counties in large metropolitan areas in America, based on the rate of new infections in the last seven days.”

Vax Up, Mask Up and Keep Your Distance, People!!
