Elsa is gone, but the CoViD-19 Pandemic is resurging with multiple “variants of concern” circulating around the world.

As of July 6th, the very contagious SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant was causing CoViD-19 cases to soar in more than 100 countries.

The increase in infectivity means that any community with fewer than half of their residents fully vaccinated is very vulnerable to new outbreaks of CoViD-19.

Unvaccinated people infected with the Delta variant are four times more likely to require hospitalization than those infected with the original virus.

In Springfield, MO, where 39% of the population is vaccinated, the hospital is overwhelmed with new cases this week and trying to borrow ventilators.

In Nassau County, 82.8% of residents 65+ years old are fully vaccinated, but only 41.0% of our eligible population has been vaccinated and our transmission rate (see graphic – note that numbers do change daily!) is one of the highest in the state. (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view)

The resurging pandemic has triggered countries around the world to extend or re-implement emergency declarations through the summer months. To help prevent the further spread of the Delta variant, Olympic Committee officials announced today that spectators will be prohibited.
Although no vaccine can be 100% protective in every person, the World Health Organization’s Chief Scientist says, “the good news is all of the emergency-use-listed CoViD-19 vaccines do protect against developing severe disease, hospitalization, and death from the known variants. So, if you’re vaccinated, you can get the infection, but the chances of getting seriously ill are very low; you will likely get very mild symptoms or no symptoms at all.”

CoViD-19 Vaccine is free and available at local pharmacies, Health Department clinics, and many physician’s offices. #GetVaccinated

Nassau EM posted a message March 2 that said the vaccines might not work. I asked why they did this and they told me, “Because it’s true.”

Here’s the whole sentence. “When you are eligible for the vaccine, get inoculated – although it might not keep you from catching the virus, it can keep you from getting severely ill.” Keeping you from getting severely ill is “working”.

Great article. Please get vaccinated. After an initial response to covid that was very successful in blunting the first surge, leadership in this state said “business as usual”. But there can be no normalcy without a vaccinated population and herd immunity. After two disastrous surges resulting in over a hundred unnecessary local deaths, (immeasurable suffering besides) we are still tolerating the same blasé approach and inaction. Now surge number three.

So if you are vaccinated you can get the new variant or the original, which is documented by CDC and local EM. Many have positive tests from the vaccine for a couple of weeks. If you are vaccinated the symptoms are less sever but positive. If you have natural immunity you are safe completely for an unspecified amount of time noted by CDC. The latest results posted in this article are new cases in which there is no indication if the person(s) were vaccinated, natural immunity or not vaccinated which invalidates the charts due to missing data or not indicated data applicable to the results.

The CDC, AMA and D.C are creating massive confusion in which many will avoid the vaccine until there is a definitive determination of the efficacy of the vaccines. Otherwise many in the populace will look at the odds of dying from a Covid virus (.05) weighed against the odds of a JAB that has complications. These complications are just now being discovered such as:

If you JAB the J&J you have a chance of being paralyzed according to recent (this week) FDA notice. If you take the the other vaccines you risk heart inflammation noted from conferences and statements (this month) from the CDC. Probably low percentages in addition with the % amount of aches pains, mobility and fevers associated with getting the JAB.

Hmmmmm….. sounds like you either ride out the flight or jump out with and experimental parachute? But that is a decision that will be made by each and every free will, which is not to be forced, coerced or threatened to comply against that persons will. Chatting up detrimental talk about your friends, family or associates is aberrant gestapo behavior whether for or against the mask or the vaccine and has no place in a free society.

That said the populace should refrain from aggressive rhetoric toward your fellow transients on this blue marble spinning in the vastness of the cosmos……after all in comparison the human race is inconsequential and today’s BIG NEWS is pathetic.
