Nassau County’s dismal 50% vaccination rate and the unnecessarily-high 17% COVID positivity rate go hand in hand. Add to that out-of-state non-vaccinated visitors, and we have the pandemic, with its long-term illnesses and deaths, lasting much longer than it otherwise should.

Vaccines are available easily throughout the county. There is no reason for the low % of our vaccinated population in Nassau except selfishness and “magical thinking”. Please, if you are not vaccinated, get off your soapbox and make a sacrifice for the health of all of us. I am afraid that our numbers will cause our economy to stall again and will sadly cause more death. Remember, even Donald and Melania got a vaccine as soon as it was available!

How can this not be head line? I don’t people’s blasé approach. People are dying! Where is the media on this?

Out of state? How about out of country. Hundreds of thousands of non vaccinated people cross our southern border

every month, these people are shipped all over the country. When title 42 is abandoned the flood gates will swing wide

open. So barking about soapboxes and sacrifices and who is and who is not vaccinated will soon pale in comparison

to the onslaught of new non vaccinated citizens.
