FSCJ Professor Rich Grigsby Receives Postsecondary Educator of the Year Award

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) Professor of Culinary Management Chef Rich Grigsby received the 2021 Postsecondary Educator of the Year Award from the Center for the Advancement of Foodservice Education (CAFÉ). The award, co-sponsored by Sysco Corporation, recognizes Chef Grigsby’s efforts and achievements in the world of culinary arts education, highlighting innovation, leadership, sustainability efforts, entrepreneurship, technological abilities and community outreach.

Also a recipient of FSCJ’s 2021 Distinguished Faculty Award, Chef Grigsby is dedicated to student success, helping his students develop their skills in the classroom and the College’s simulated restaurant environment, Cafe Frisch. Outside of the classroom, he is active in the community, working closely with industry employers and internship host sites to help students elevate their learning, enabling them to excel in their careers.

Thanks to Chef Grigsby’s hard work and leadership, the Culinary Management Associate in Science (A.S.) degree program earned an Exemplary Rating because of full compliance and was accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation’s Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC) through 2026.
