Editor’s Note: We thank John Royall who was on Amelia River Cruises’ boat with Features Reporter Karen Thompson as they headed out to greet the Nao Santa Maria as it entered the harbor. John graciously offered his photos for Karen’s article, “The Magnificieint Nao Santa Maria shares Fernandina Marina with boats large and small.” John serves as Chairman and Co-founder of the St. Mary’s Tall Ship Alliance, Inc. , the organization very involved in attracting the ship to Fernandina Beach.
