Nao Santa Maria scheduled to arrive in Fernandina today at 4:00 p.m.

Fernandina Beach City Manager Dale Martin reports that the Nao Santa Maria has announced that depending upon winds and tides, it will arrive at the Fernandina Harbor Marina at 4:00 p.m. today, June 2, 2021.  He added that some local boats have planned a welcome flotilla for the replica of Christopher Columbus’ vessel, the Santa Maria.

The Nao Santa Maria a floating and sailing historical museum that allows the public to come aboard and tour 5 different decks. Visitors will be taken back in time experiencing what life was like back in the 15th century’s age of discovery.

Amelia Island resident and SMTSA Vice Chair, Jon Slaughter, “looks forward with great anticipation to the opportunity it affords our students and citizens to educate and relive an event that was so meaningful in the history of our past.

The Nao Santa Maria will arrive in the City of Fernandina Beach on June 2nd with public deck tours June 3, 4, 5 & 6th.

The St. Marys Tall Ship Alliance, Inc.
