4/14/21 @ 9:45 a.m. – At the Monday, April 12th meeting, the Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution No. 2021-044, proclaiming the week of April 11 through April 17, 2021, as “National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week” in Nassau County.

This week is meant to highlight the very important roll of 9-1-1 call takers, dispatchers, safety radio technicians, communications center personnel, and other public telecommunications staff. These individuals work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to help the public during an emergency. In fact, the are often the first person you speak to during an emergency situation. They answer phones, coordinate dispatch of emergency responders, and do their best to keep you calm during stressful situations.

We appreciate the hard work they do every day and are happy to designate a week honoring them for their service to the community.
