March 30, 2021Officer of the Year, Brian Evatt, pictured with his wife Maria. Brian is the School Resource Officer at Fernandina Beach High School and has been often commended for being especially engaged with students and teachers, as well as with many school activities. He served as an assistant football coach at the high school for six years and is currently the head coach of the JV baseball team. Brian is also a graduate of Fernandina Beach High School and started his career with the Fernandina Beach Police Department in 2008.Our Volunteers of the Year, (Chief Hurley), Allan Brennan, Joe Lengyel, and Ronnie Turner. Our Police Auxiliary Corps Commander Gary Eversole is pictured in the blue shirt.Our Fernandina Beach Police Department Civilian Employee of the Year, Gary Eversole. Gary is one of our first Beach Rangers and also is a stalwart volunteer, leading our local police volunteers, while also volunteering at Baptist Nassau Hospital.
