FSCJ to Host Business Speaker Series Event, “Minority-Owned Business: Essentials for Success”

Florida State College at Jacksonville (FSCJ) will host its next Business Speaker Series event, “Minority-Owned Business: Essentials for Success – Overcoming Challenges, Discovering Resources and Learning to Thrive.” This virtual panel event will put a spotlight on how minority-owned businesses contribute to the local economy in spite of the challenges they often face to thriving in the market.

 

WHEN:           Wednesday, December 9, 2020,  10-11:30 a.m.

WHERE:         Online – Attendees will receive conference sign-on information following registration. All are welcome to attend this free event. Online registration is required. Visit fscj.edu/business-speakers to register and learn more.

Our local panelists of business owners and resource experts will discuss these challenges, as well as their successes, and will share valuable advice for future entrepreneurs.

Panelists include:

  • Kristin Keen, Founder and CEO, Rethreaded
  • Aaron Mervin, Owner, Headshots Studio
  • Eric Nguyen, Vice President and Director of Operations, I-TECH Personnel, Inc.
  • Carlton Robinson, Chief Innovation Officer, JAXUSA

The panel will be moderated by FSCJ Professor of Logistics and Distribution Dr. Johnny Bowman Jr.

The Business Speaker Series was made possible by a $250,000 commitment from First Florida Credit Union to support initiatives that will help local students and community members become future business leaders. The funding helped launch the series and will bolster the College’s Financial Skills Academy.
