Nassau County Emergency Management: We are very sad to have to report two new resident deaths that have been attributed to complications of infection with the Novel SARS-CoV-2 virus. These residents were a 78-year-old female and a 59-year-old male. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the families and loved ones of each of these residents during their mourning.

You will see in the summary table that these two fatalities bring the total  number of CoViD-19-related deaths among Nassau County residents to 51, not 52. FDOH epidemiologists are constantly analyzing the CoViD-19 data for accuracy and when they find discrepancies the provisional data are updated to reflect the correction. You have probably noticed occasional corrections to the case-count by ZIP code in the past when the numbers didn’t seem to match the total additional cases for a given date.
This time, one previously counted Nassau resident death has been recently identified as not meeting the current CoViD-19-associated death definition, so that case was removed from the summary.

DOH-Nassau’s epidemiologists are investigating 15 new cases of CoViD-19 today. (Residents & Non-Residents)
