What used to be an internet café along SR 200 in Yulee is soon to be a new fun and affordable restaurant – COUNTRYSIDE Fish and Chicken. Their specialty, is fried food and they are proud of it. They currently have other (fairly recently opened) restaurants in Folkston, St. Mary’s and Jesup, GA. This will be their first Florida locale.
Coming to Callahan — Popeyes.
Says the company website: “Forty-seven years ago in New Orleans, Louisiana, a taste sensation was born. What began with one small restaurant and one big idea turned into a craze that swept the nation—and the world.”
These days, there are more than 2,700 Popeyes restaurants in the US and around the world!!!
Self-described as a culinary heritage “built upon the rich Cajun and creole flavor profiles that are unmistakably Louisiana,” Popeyes has become one of the world’s largest chicken quick service restaurants.
No word yet on an opening date but a sign posted outside noted they are now hiring.
