Editor’s Note:  Yesterday, we did not issue a Cornavirus report since a low number of cases were reported.  Today’s numbers are low as well, but another death is being reported in Nassau County.   According to the Florida Department of Health, “Today, data reported to DOH shows there has been a steady decline in the number of reported Florida resident deaths who were previously diagnosed with COVID-19. The second week of August compared to the second week of September, shows a 74 percent decrease in the average number of reported COVID-19 related deaths.”

Nassau County Emergency Management: DOH-Nassau epidemiologists have six new cases to investigate today.
In spite of the favorable trend in positive tests, we are saddened to have to announce another CoViD-19-related resident death. This Nassau resident was an 82-year-old male. Our sincere condolences are extended to his family and loved ones.
Please remember that protecting Public Health is everyone’s responsibility. It is vital that we all continue to be vigilant and follow Public Health recommendations to prevent further spread of the Novel SARS-CoV-2 virus and protect our community’s most vulnerable members.
