Unusual foam on North Beach

These pictures were taken yesterday when Jean Mann went on an early morning walk on North Beach. According to Mann, the incoming tide left a stretch of the beach covered with a darkish colored foam.

I have seen this foam before. PFAS is used as a coating for pizza boxes. It leaves foam, like this. WestRock makes pizza boxes. I hope evidence like this spurs our water department to test for PFAS or at least make inquiries about historical use on island. PFAS is also used at naval bases for fire fighting training exercises. Could be coming from up river and washing on the north end.

Thanks Suzanne. Here is another theory, someone I know saw the dark river water out at Fort Clinch yesterday. Perhaps the rain up the river is causing the dark water to flow out of the Okefenokee Swamp. Could that be the source of the foam?
