How many people would not be aware that a pandemic has occurred if they were not informed about it by the “news”?

There has to be an explanation for this number. Something is peculiar about it. We had been trending downward nicely and then suddenly this spike. And I am looking at the ages involved. Is there a care facility that is having an issue? What is the rest of the story here?
