25% of Nassau County’s registered voters have already cast ballots

Early Voting in Nassau County, FL for the August 18 Primary Election ended at 6 p.m. on August 16, 2020 with 7,590 of Nassau County’s 69,115 registered voters participating (11 percent).  Mail voting numbers outstrip the number of in person early votes.  As of this morning (August 17), 9.761 mail ballots have been received in the Nassau County Supervisor of Elections Office (14 percent).  

Neither the mail ballots nor early voting ballots will be tallied until the polls close on Primary Election Day, August 18,  The 75 percent of county voters who have not yet cast their ballots will have their final opportunity on Tuesday, at their assigned polling place, between the hours of  7 a.m. – 7 p.m.  Outstanding mail ballots must also be received by that time.

With the closing of the polls, the talllying of the ballots begins.  The results are published on the Supervisor of Elections website www.votenassau.com as they are reported in from precincts, with mail ballots reported first.  Generally the unofficial results are completed and posted around 8 p.m.

The Fernandina Observer will publish the results as soon as they are posted.

Reminder:  Although signs have been popping up all over the city, City of Fernandina Beach elections are held on November 3, 2020, as part of the General Election.  Names of city candidates will NOT appear on the August 18 Primary ballot.

Also, if you were not a registered voter by July 20, 2020 you are not eligible to vote in Tuesday’s election.  You do have until October 5, 2020 to register to be eligible to vote in the November 3, 2020 General Election.
