REMINDER: Early Voting ends this weekend

If you intended to vote early, you have only today and tomorrow to do so.  Early voting locations in Nassau County will close Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

As of 9:30 a.m., over 22 percent of Nassau County’s registered voters have already cast ballots via mail or early voting.

Although billed as a Primary Election, all registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, are eligible to vote.

Election Day is Tuesday, August 18.  All polls will be open.  Check the Nassau County Supervisor of Elections website for further information.  The Fernandina Observer will post election returns as soon as they are made available that evening.

I brought my ballot into the Atlantic Avenue Rec Center instead of mailing it. The person in charge there said I could have also brought in my ballot on election day. The way I understand it, even though the early voting ends today, people can still bring their ballots in on Tuesday.

I just checked the Supervisor of Elections web site.

It states: “Very Important: Florida law does not allow voters to drop their ballots off on Election Day at polling places. Ballots must be returned to the Supervisor of Elections Office, 96135 Nassau Place, Yulee, FL no later than 7pm on Election Day. “
