Florida Department of Health Updates New COVID-19 Cases, Announces Forty-Three Deaths Related to COVID-19

~87,643 positive cases in Florida residents and 2,105 positive cases in non-Florida residents~

Test results for more than 34,800 individuals were reported to DOH as of midnight, on Thursday, June 18. Today, as reported at 11 a.m., there are:

  • 3,822 new positive COVID-19 cases (3,789 Florida residents and 33 non-Florida residents)
  • 43 Florida resident deaths related to COVID-19

On June 18, 10 percent of new cases** tested positive.

There are a total of 89,748 Florida cases*** with 3,104 deaths related to COVID-19.

Since data reported at 11 a.m. on June 18, the deaths of forty-three Florida residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have been reported in Broward, Charlotte, Dade, Escambia, Gadsden, Hendry, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lee, Manatee, Marion, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pinellas, Polk, Union, Volusia, and Washington counties.

  • To date, 1,637 individuals that were staff or residents of a long-term care facility have died.

Nassau County Emergency Management:

  • a 56-year-old female who had no known contact with a confirmed case but had travel-related exposure.
  • a 41-year-old male who had no known contact with a confirmed case or travel-related exposure.
  •  a 25-year-old male who had no known contact with a confirmed case or travel-related exposure.
  •  a 45-year-old male who had no known contact with a confirmed case or travel-related exposure.

Epidemiologists are conducting case investigations and contact tracing on these cases. These individuals will remain in isolation until released by Public Health officials. This brings the total case count to date to 101 for Nassau County (93 residents, 8 non-FL residents).

77 of the 93 Nassau residents have been released from isolation – the eight non-FL resident cases were investigated and monitored by their State Health Department and have been or will be released by the public health officials in their home state – we do not track those details.
