The State of Florida Issues COVID-19 Updates

The State of Florida is responding to COVID-19. In an effort to keep Florida residents and visitors safe and aware regarding the status of the virus, the Florida Department of Health will continue to issue this update every day through Phase 1 of Florida’s reopening plan. Once the state moves into Phase 2, DOH will provide this update once per week. However, DOH will continue to update the COVID-19 dashboard and post the state report daily.

Nassau County Emergency Management: As of 11am, May 27, 2020, FDOH Nassau has received two new cases with positive COVID-19 testing conducted in Nassau. The first case is a 24 year-old female (non-FL) resident with travel-related exposure and with no known contact to a confirmed case. The second case is a 31 year-old male (non-FL resident) with unknown contact to a confirmed case and with travel-related exposure. The Health Department is conducting case investigation and contact tracing on these cases. The individuals will remain in isolation until released by public health. This brings the total case count to date to seventy-two (65 Nassau residents and 7 non-FL residents) for Nassau County. As of this date, 54 individuals have been released from isolation.
