Molly Davis presents Ginger to the FBCC and public.

Each month the Fernandina Beach City Commission (FBCC) reserves a spot on its agenda to highlight a dog in need of adoption from the Nassau Humane Society (NHS)  The dog featured at the March 3, 2020 meeting was an older, female pit bull named Ginger.

According to Molly Davis, the NHS handler who introduced the animal to the FBCC and the public, Ginger had a sad life prior to her arrival at the NHS shelter.  Used as a bait dog in dog fights, she had had her ears clipped and a chain around her neck that has left its mark.  Despite serious mistreatment by her former owners, 8 year-old Ginger remains a loving, docile dog who is good with children and strangers.  She has had her heartworm treatment and is ready to be adopted.

For information on how you can adopt Ginger or any of the other rescue animals at the Nassau Humane Shelter, you may call 904-321-1647 or visit them at 641 Airport Road, Fernandina Beach, FL.
