A violent sexual battery occurred in August 2019 on South 10th Street between two houses. The victim was found on the ground in the early morning hours by a local resident who called the Fernandina Beach Police Department.
The subsequent investigation included numerous interviews and a detailed collection of evidence, followed by laboratory examination. A suspect was identified and an arrest warrant was secured with a $300,002.00 bond.
Yesterday, the suspect, 28 year old Michael David Blue Jr, previously of 620 South 11th Street Fernandina Beach was located and arrested in Volusia County. He will be returned to Nassau County to face the charge of Sexual Battery.
