Marlin and Barrel helped start the Nassau County school year off right with their second annual “fill the gin tub” supply drive. Throughout the month of August patrons of the local distillery brought in an amazing collection of supplies for teachers to use in their classrooms. In addition Marlin and Barrel donated proceeds from bottles of their second Straight Bourbon release.

On October 7, Heather Morenc, one of the distillery owners, and members of the Nassau Education Foundation delivered their generous donation to the Nassau County School Board. Suzanne Davis, Director of Personnel accepted the gift on behalf of the Nassau County teachers. These supplies are now in the Nassau County teacher supply depot for use throughout this school year.

The teacher supply depot is a new initiative started this year to provide a storehouse of supplies for new and returning teachers to add to their classroom; donations are being accepted on an ongoing basis. To donate to the teacher supply depot, contact Connie Daughtry at 904-491-9905. Thank you to our generous community partner, Marlin and Barrel.
