Registration is open for summer theatre camps for ages 7 – 18 at Amelia Community Theatre. ACT offers three unique camps that provide theatre education and performance opportunities in a relaxed, fun environment. For campers ages 7-12, the one week acting camp is June 3-7 in the studio theatre from 9 AM until 12 noon each morning, directed by ACT’s managing director Linda McClane. Campers will present a 30 minute show on Friday, June 7. Tuition is $100 and camp is limited to twenty children.

The two-week Musical Theatre Camp with a maximum of 40 youth, is June 17-21 and June 24-28, with main stage performances on June 28 and 29 of Frozen, Jr. Children ages 8-11 attend from 9 a.m. until 12 noon; twelve year old campers have the option of attending the morning session or the extended day session with the campers ages 13-17 who remain until 2 p.m. Tuition is $200 for the morning session; $230 for the extended day session. Tener Wade will direct, with Solomon Johnson as musical director.

ACT’s Shakespeare camp, for youth 12-18, is July 1-5 and July 8-12. Campers will perform The Tempest, adapted and directed by ACT’s associate director Tener Wade on July 12 and 13 on the studio stage. Camp is from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. and tuition is $150. Shakespeare campers have performed Macbeth and King Lear in previous summers.
