Florida State DAR names FBHS’s Ben Weiser “Outstanding History Teacher”

Ben Weiser has been named the state’s outstanding teacher of American History by the Florida State Society DAR a month after the Amelia Island Chapter cited him for its award. Mr. Weiser is a veteran of 20 years in the classroom and currently teaches American history at Fernandina Beach High School. His undergraduate degree is from Purdue University, and his Master of Arts in Secondary Education is from Indiana Wesleyan University.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is the largest women’s service organization in the world and contributes over one million volunteer hours a year. The approximately 200 members of the Amelia Island Chapter contribute 5,000 volunteer hours and $5,000 in scholarships and awards in Nassau County each year.
