Fernandina Beach is hiring lifeguards for Amelia Island beaches and city pools

The Fernandina Observer has learned that the City of Fernandina Beach is hiring as many as 42 full-time and 10 part-time lifeguards to protect Amelia Island’s pools, beaches and swimmers for the coming beach season.  The city is recruiting under four separate job postings.  Depending on qualifications, applicants may apply for:

 

Pool Lifeguard – 10 seasonal part-time, up to 29 hours per week
Pay Grade 117 ($8.15-$12.84)

Ocean Rescue Lifeguard I  – 15 positions, up to 40 hours per week
Pay Grade 124 ($11.49-$18.10)

Ocean Rescue Lifeguard II -20 positions, up to 40 hours per week
Pay Grade 125 ($12.05-$18.95)

Ocean Rescue Lifeguard III – 7 positions, up to 40 hours per week
Pay Grade 126 ($12.68-$19.95)
