Nassau County is hosting an event regarding future long-range planning of Western Nassau County. This event will take place on Tuesday, November 13th at the Fairgrounds Multi-Purpose Building in Callahan (543350 US Hwy 1) starting at 6:30pm. The event is free and open to the public, who are encouraged to attend to learn more and provide input.

The Nassau County Planning and Zoning Board (PZB) has formed a subcommittee, the Western Nassau Heritage Preservation Committee (WNHPC). Five PZB members who reside in Western Nassau, the area of the County west of I-95, serve on the WNHPC. The committee is charged with discussing the future of Western Nassau as it relates to community planning, and to work with the County Planning and Economic Opportunity Department to determine how they can best assist in these proactive planning efforts. More information can be found at www.nassaucountyfl.com/westernnassau. The WNHPC anticipates working on this initiative for the next 18 months, with the result being a vision plan and policies for the Board of County Commissioners to consider including in the County Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code. But first they want to hear from you!

Citizen input and feedback on the future of Western Nassau is essential. Join the County on Tuesday, November 13th at the Fairgrounds Multi-Purpose Building in Callahan (543350 US Hwy 1) for a session to learn about growth in Western Nassau and to provide input. The event will start at 6:30pm.

Community members can also give immediate feedback through two brief online surveys:
