On Sunday evening, October 28th, the sweetest sounds of harmony echoed the walls of the oldest Methodist Church in Florida with the outstanding musical presentation of five professional flutists of the Nassau Friends of Flutes Ensemble, performing a not to be soon forgotten program of songs from classical to great favorites, for a capacity crowd at the sanctuary of Memorial United Methodist Church in historic downtown Fernandina Beach. The sanctuary provided perfect acoustics for their performance before the excited attendees in a very successful event for support of our own Trees for America’s Troop, Inc. Dr. Joan Averitt, the Director of Music for the church, provided a very skilled addition to the ensemble.

Trees for America’s Troops is a local 501C3 non-profit organization in its seventh year, providing some of the “Joys of Christmas” for our military stationed overseas and cannot be home for Christmas with their loved ones. They provide 24inch pre-lit and decorated Christmas trees. Stockings filled with goodies and signed, personalized Christmas cards to our heroes with words of encouragement. We want everyone to never forget their sacrifice and their service to this great country, especially at Christmas, one of the hardest times to be away from their loved ones!

If you have a loved one, relative or friend in the military who is stationed overseas and cannot be home for the Christmas Holidays, please call us at 904-206-3938 as soon as possible, and we will handle the rest to send the love of many to so many….!
