“WE ARE NASSAU”

The dog days of summer are coming to an end on Friday, August 10th it’s “Back to School Time” for 11,582 students. There are many things we may all relate to as August approaches! No more lazy days of summer, new clothes, early wake-up calls, rigid daily schedules, school supplies, and studying! The Nassau County School District team is excited to kick off the 2018-2019 school year. Our theme this year is: “We Are Nassau!” We are working together for the success of students and the improvement of our schools, every day in every school! We will be rolling out the red carpet for teachers and support personnel on August 2nd, their first day back to work! This event is planned to encourage and inspire our teachers as they prepare to welcome students and families on August 10th.

All Nassau County residents will be receiving their annual “Nassau Sound” newspaper in the mail in the next few days. Please take the time to read it. It’s filled with valuable information.

Listed below is additional information that will make the first days of school positive and productive.

1) Daily Start/end schedule for each school

2) Safety

There will be an officer on campus at each school site. Your “normal” manner of entering the school building may have changed. The front entrance enhancements are all designed to make our students and schools safer.
