Port of Fernandina welcomes SAGA NAVIGATOR

The SAGA NAVIGATOR, larger than the OWL that recently arrived at the Port of Fernandina, arrived today. The SAGA NAVIGATOR was met by harbor pilots around 2:00 p.m.  According to Laura DiBella, the ship is “an impressive ship and new customer to the port coming from the far east.” The cargo being delivered is plywood.

Since two large ships were transiting the channel at the same time (one going and one coming), there was a delay in the scheduled arrival time of 12:30 p.m.

Saga not able to enter our port yet-waiting for the ship with the modular units to be piloted out. Takes about an hour to pilot out and another hour to pilot the next vessel in, do a couple more hours before the Saga Navigator bring us–yay!–plywood.
