Phu Trieu Tran

On April 4, a Nassau County Sheriff’s Deputy was called to Nassau Lake Apartments to respond to an animal cruelty complaint.  Forty-five year old Phu Trieu Tran, who resides on Woodbridge Parkway near Old Nassauville Road in the unincorporated area of Nassau County, was arrested and transported to the Nassau County Jail.

After receiving notice that Tran’s four birds, guinea pig, and two rabbits were not allowed in his residence, Tran placed the caged animals in a trash compactor.  Only one bird, and two rabbits survived.  Nassau County Animal Services transported the surviving animals to a veterinarian’s office where they were treated and released.

Tran is being charged with four counts of “felony cruelty to animals.”
