County issues statement providing reason for Special Meeting Cancellation

Nassau County Board of Commissioners
Press Release
March 1, 2018 3:22 p.m.

Based upon the State House of Representatives passing HB 697 with the removal of Paragraph 10, there is no need for the Board of County Commissioners to conduct their special meeting tonight. The House action striking Paragraph 10 conforms with the Senate action striking Paragraph 3 in the Senate Bill (SB324). Based upon that, there is no need for the Board of County Commissioners to take official action tonight.

Any future discussion of matters related to the ENCPA can be addressed at the Board’s regular meeting of Monday, March 12, 2018 at 6 pm or as soon thereafter as possible.

Editor’s Note: It is believed that with Senator Bean’s support Nassau County will prevail on the Senate Floor.
