Next phase of beach renourishment underway

Fernandina Beach Vice Mayor Len Kreger has alerted the Fernandina Observer to the arrival of equipment heralding the start of the latest beach renourishment efforts along city beaches.  He provided the photos below early this morning.

Kreger reported that the dredge is here and working off shore.  Actual pumping to the Beach will begin 1 March 2018, and pipe assembly is continuous.  Completion remains 1 April 2018

The fusing station at 11 North Access. According to Kreger, this access will be closed during the renourishment.   Fusing will be done at this location with completed sections relocated. We will have a diagram of showing the pipe location for the entire project along with tentative schedules soon.
