Editor’s Note: I love Mark’s description of the Gopher Turtle.  It is the one that “tourist folk try to put in the ocean every summer.” Mark enjoys taking photos around the island. One of his photos of the Egans Creek Greenway was selected to grace the cover of the Florida Counties Calendar.

Last July, Mark, his wife Julie, and teenage daughters Ariana and Alixondra, moved to Amelia Island from upstate New York on a “whim.” Mark is a local graphic designer, who works for Paxton Auto Marketing. His wife Julie is an artist who works from the “Clay Times” studio located in the historic downtown. Julie also spends her time as a part time florist at Harris Teeter.

We look forward to posting more of Mark’s photos. Thank you Mark for your contribution to the Fernandina Observer.
