Tom Piscitello, President of Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 943 in Fernandina Beach, presents a check for $1,000 to Mary Moore, Hope House Manager, while Will DeCanio, the chapter’s treasurer, looks on. The money is earmarked for Florida hurricane relief.

The EAA was founded in 1953 and promotes and supports recreational flying. Its Chapter 943 is based at Fernandina Municipal Airport. In addition to donating money for hurricane relief, the chapter recently hosted a Young Eagles event offering free airplane rides to Nassau County residents who were between 8 and 17 years old. Young Eagles is an EAA-sanctioned program designed to introduce the younger generation to recreational flying.
