Safety isn’t just a position on the football field, it’s the most important thing on the road, too. That’s why the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is encouraging Florida residents and visitors to check its 511 Traveler Information System before and after NFL home games to stay up-to-date on congestion, closures, crashes, construction and more.

Fans can check the Florida 511 website and mobile app for the fastest and safest route to their team’s stadium, and get real-time conditions and travel times along that route. Area residents can use 511 to find the best way to avoid game-day traffic.

“Fans follow their teams. Plan ahead. Check 511,” said Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Steven Montiero. “The closer you get to the sporting event, the more congested it can be. Traffic patterns will always change. Be prepared for that, and remember, travel safely.”

The home opener for the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Field is Sunday, Sept. 11. Motorists can use 511 to check roadway conditions on I-95 and I-10. The Jaguars schedule also includes another home game this month, Sunday, September 25. For a complete schedule, visit jaguars.com.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers home opener is Sunday, September 25. Fans can use 511 to check roadway conditions on I-75, I-275 and I-4 on their way to Raymond James Stadium. For a complete Bucs season schedule, visit buccaneers.com.

The Miami Dolphins kick off their home campaign on Sunday, September 25. Motorists should use 511 to check roadway conditions on I-95 and Florida’s Turnpike. The Dolphins entire 2016-2017 schedule is available at miamidolphins.com.

Use Florida’s 511 Traveler Information System before heading to the game, or when traveling through the area.
