Editor’s Note: Alexandra Dawson moved to Fernandina Beach from St. Augustine, Florida in 2014 after serving as Resident Director at a local high school and campus for pregnant teenagers. Prior to Florida, Sandra resided in Maryland where she attended university from her native country, Italy. There she played NCAA Div I Sports before moving to Florida in 1998.
Alexandra has taught school and sports for over 20 years and is an artist and currently an art educator for locals at The Gilded Dolphin Art Studios & Gallery, The Island Art Association, FSCJ’s Lifelong Learning Series, and Arts Alive Council of Nassau County. She is a freelance photographer and enjoys photographing anything beautiful including local wildlife and scenery, historic rust and creative, fun people.
