Held in conjunction with the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Preparedness Month (September), the event is being held to underscore the importance of preparedness in the event of hurricane, wildfire, tornado or other natural disaster. Representatives from Nassau County Emergency Management, the National Weather Service, the National Guard, the Coast Guard, Florida Power and Light, Jacksonville Electric Authority, Okefenokee Rural Electric and the local business community will also be on hand.

“September is the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Preparedness Month, and I encourage Northeast Florida residents to attend the September 21st preparedness forum, ask questions, and learn the key safety points to stay ahead of the storm,” said Crenshaw, Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government and Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense. “As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
