BBB 2It was a beautiful day at Fernandina Beach’s Main Beach on Saturday and a group of protestors gathered at the Sierra Club table to sign petitions against various programs that can potentially destroy the environment such as fracking, seismic blasting, offshore oil drilling off the East Coast. This international group was founded in 2010 after the Gulf spill and seeks to promote clean energy.

BBB groupThis global event was scheduled for May 16th for all participants from land or sand locations to stretch their hands in a group from 12 noon to 12:15 and our local group of activists were joined by many of the sunbathers enjoying a day at the beach.

Raising awareness through www.handsacrossthesand.org can be aided by donations and petitions online as well.
