Editor’s Note: Jim Ekstrom came to Fernandina Beach a few years ago from Exeter, New Hampshire after ending a 40 plus year teaching career as a biology teacher in the secondary schools. Jim and his wife Rosalind, a Pilates instructor, enjoy kayaking, hiking, and taking RV trips to the southeast. Jim’s particular interest is nature photography. He is a member of the Island Art Association.
