alzMark your calendars for two upcoming events on the island that are fundraisers for the Alzheimer’s Association. More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease and are tirelessly supported by over 15 million caregivers. The Longest Day raises funds and awareness in the fight against this disease.

OCEAN OAKS and SEA GROVE communities are coming together for a garage sale on Saturday April 25th from 8am to 1pm. We are located at Jasmine and Jean Lafitte. Come and check out our treasures and support this great cause.

On Saturday June 20th we are holding a fun bridge tournament at the MLK Center at 1200 Elm Street. Three separate games will held beginning at 9am, 1pm and 4pm. Each game will cost $10 and will be eligible for American Contract Bridge League masterpoints. We will hold a 299’er game during the 1pm session for less experienced duplicate bridge players. No ACBL membership is necessary to play in any game. We will have food and beverages as well as 50/50 tickets available for purchase with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Association.

If you can’t participate in either event, but would like to make a donation, please contact Dane Carmichael, Amelia Cards and Treasures Team Captain, 904-491-5905 or [email protected].
