News 4 Jax reports a fatal car accident on the Amelia Island Parkway at Marion Drive south of the Fernandina Municipal Airport. According to news report, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene. The Parkway was closed to traffic for fours hours but is now reopened.
Update: News 4 Jax reports “26-year-old Donald Conrad Jason Menz has died. He was driving a 2005 Toyota Scion on Amelia Road when he missed a curve and collided with a speed-limit sign. The front of his car hit a utility pole and then hit a tree.”
